I have created a number of reports on my local machine which work well. These have been incorporated into our web site. When the reports are run on our development machines they can be seen. When we made the site available on our web server then the error “Class not registered – DTSConnection” is given. I have not been able to solve this problem. Can any one help

Server Error in '/' Application.

Kencol,

Did you ever get this resolved

I am getting the same error on a windows app trying to run a crystal report.

I would appreciate any info about a solution on this or even things you have tired that have not worked.

Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem. Crystal Reports XI R2 (11.5)

The error is related to the machine being called upon to process the report not having a proper install of crystal.

I was focused on the "proper install", but the key to my issue turned out to be "the machine being called upon to process the report"

In my situation the client having the issue was reading the name of the report server from a config file loacated on the report server. That value was set to "localhost" so the client was using localhost as was the server when calling reports from the app. So reports from the server worked fine, but the client of course did not becuase localhost is not a crystal server as far as the client is concerned. Changing the value to the WINS name fixed the issue.

This was very specific to my environment and app, not too likely that you are having the same problem but the lesson learned may help you.

2 things

1) confirm a good install

2) double check and re-think how the call is being made, ensure it is going to the server you think it is. ;>)

hope this is somewhat helpful

Re-installating the package to a different directory fixed the problem for me.

What settings on the config file could help set a different path for the reports

I have the same problem too. How did you resolve this issue

The solutions offered to re-install the package (crystal, I assume) should it be done on my local or to the web server I port

Also, the settings on the web.config to change from local host to wns, Could you explain how you achieved that I used the following code to redirect to the actual server. But it still seems to provide the same error.

myReport = new ReportDocument();

string reportPath = "http://Server_Name/Reports/CrystalReport.rpt";

myReport.Load(reportPath);

crView.ReportSource = myReport;

By "re-install the package" I meant that I re-ran the MSI that I had built. The MSI included the merge modules for Crystal 11.5. After I installed it to a different sub folder both the new installation and the previous installation began to work.

Reinstalling the CrystalSetUp.msi and the .Net 2.0 update fixed the problem for us.

Well... as a Crystal Developer, this is another new nightmare that I faced recently..

But, this one unlike the others was able to be solved with ease...

In my case

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Server : Windows Server 2003

Reprot Application Server Installed : Crystal 11.0 RAS

My Local development server : Windows Server 2000

My Local dev server Crystal V : Crystal Report Developer 11.5

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I create the WebSetup Deployment package I include "CrystalNet_11.5 Merge Module and therefore, It installed Crystal Report viewer 11.5 in win server 2003. But I also had 11.0 Crystal Report viewer already in my IIS as a virtual dir.

the reason I was getting the error, is that

I was running both crystal vertions in the same Application Pool.

I Removed the 11.0 Report viewer from IIS and now the only vertion that uses my App Pool is Ver. 11.5

After getting that done, I restart the RAS.

Refresh the page

Everything Perfect!!!!

There can be other reasons that invoke this error and this might not be the solution for your Crystal Nightmare...

But I Hope this will help

All the Best!!
