Windows Vista >> Defrag within Vista

Hallo,
Standaard the defrag is checking all disks and is running in the background
(parameter -c -i) , logical that it can take a long time.

I start by now with succes via the taskplanner separately the c and the d
disk ans i dedeteced that running the defrag again after a succesfull run
ended within one minute (logical, although i had an impression that it
wasn't case before).

That for your information and now my question:
-i do not receive a message when the defrag starts or ends (is this
possible?)
-it seems to be possible to receive a status report by adding the
parameter -v but here also i don't see any message?

Somebody any idea?

Regards
Huib

Hi Huib,

Vista's Disk Defragmenter does not have a status report, just the
finished report. See this for screenshots of all the other commands to
see if it may help some.

For a great free defrag program that has a progress bar built into it
and is faster, you might try Auslogics Disk Defrag instead.

'Auslogics - Download Auslogics Disk Defrag'

hallo,
Thanks for the interesting information.
The point is that performing it on the Dos prompt the result is shown but
when adding the same parameters on the taksplanner the reports are not
shown.
