Media Center >> Networked MCE not playing recordings
I have Media Center installed on two computers. One computer has a tuner
card, and this computer works fine. I decided that I want to utilize my home
network, and be able to use media center on multiple computers. I downloaded
a version of MCE using my MSDN licence, and installed in on my computer in my
ba****t. This computer does not have a tuner card, but I thought that I
should be able to play the TV shows that I had recorded on the computer that
has a tuner card. So on my ba****t computer, I located the file that I
wanted to "play", right clicked it, and selected "play". I do not see or
hear anything on my display or speakers. But, the progress indicator on the
MCE display does show that the show is playing.
Has anyone been able to set up their system in the manner that I am
attempting?
Any suggestions as to what might be going wrong here?
Do I need that "Rollup" app installed?
Thanks,
John

Media Center >> Networked MCE not playing recordings
Yes, I am able to play it with Media Player. I would rather be able to play
it with Media Center.
One thing that I failed to mention is that when I was running the media
center setup on the second computer and I get to the part where I can "Watch
Video", the video does not display. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
John

Don't bother looking for it, as codec packs are more trouble than they are a
benefit.
