I purchased a new laptop with Windows Vista which comes with WMP 11. My MP3
player is only compatible with WMP 10. Is it possible to roll back to WMP 10
under Vista? It seems as if I don't have that option. What are my other
options (other than buying a new MP3 player)?

No, there are no rollbacks, WMP11 is natively installed on Vista.
Unfortunately PlaysForSure was only applicable through the WMP10
lifecycle, which might lead you to assue it's not really "plays for
sure" after all... in any case, most MP3 players weren't really set up
for that designation. The good news is a replacement will be very
cheap (about £10 or so)

Why is it only compatible with WMP10?

Speaking for myself only.
See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
