I have a DVD decoder, but WMP says "No disc in drive"

I have ULead's dvd authoring / playing software which works fine with all my copy protected dvd's

However, when I run WMP9, the drop down drive combo box just says "No Disc in Drive" for both my DVD drives

I have run dvdupgrd /detect and it lists my Ulead codec as properly installed

I have tried re-installing WMP9 and this does not change things

Any suggestions?
