Media Center >> The IR Remote

I have a question about the InfaRed Remote. How dose the computer receive the remote signal? Is there allready an InfaRed signal card in there? If I wanted to replace it, would I be able to use a regular store bought InfaRed receiver card? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Media Center >> The IR Remote You cannot replace it. It links very tightly with the IRBUS.SYS stack
within XP and performs specific functions "on-board" that integrates with
the USB HID drivers of the OS.
