Installing Vista drivers on XP

We tried installing Microsoft Document Writer on Windows XP OS.But the driver is not getting installed.Even the printer driver developed by us is not getting installed on XP os.

We would like to know the applications or files that are required for installing XPS document writer on XP From the XPS Faq

we came to know that microsoft should supply a print processor with XPS document writer.Is the print Processor available for lower level os Could you please give me the location of the print processor

Sivakami, this appears to be a problem with your XP installation. Did you try it on a clean install of Windows XP

The Microsoft XPS Document Writer does work on down level OS's, including Windows 2003 and Windows XP. It's included in the WinFX SDK. You can find the February CTP here:

Could you tell me where did you get the XPS Writer driver I looked through the files that the SDK installed, and I cannot find any XPS driver.

The Microsoft XPS Document Writer (MXDW) is actually only available as part of Windows Vista Beta 2 for now. Previous CTP releases from late 2005 and early 2006 did include an older version of the MXDW in the then codenamed "WinFX" SDK. We are working to make this available as part of .NET Framework 3.0 for the RC1 release for downlevel OS.

I just read on Andy Simonds "XPS and D2 Blog" (http://blogs.msdn.com/andy_simonds/archive/2006/07/26/679554.aspx) that MXDW is included in the July CTP of the .NET Framework 3.0!
