Sorry I have asked this before, but I had a system crash on my client
machine.
The application log in event viewer does not show any data, but it states
2,000 entries. How do I get to view it?
Thanks, Denis

Have you tried to save the log file, and open it up using Excel or Notepad?

Yes I have tried to save and export, there are no entries in it. I have
also deleted the log, and that did not cure it. I looked at stoping the
service but you are not allowed to as too many other services are dependant.
It strange as all the other logs are fine.

I sent a reply to you 2 days ago. never got onto the newsgroup. I saved the
file as you suggested, but it would not save, so I took the plunge and
deleted the log file, then rebooted the server, and all is now ok
Thanks for the help.

Hi Denis:
Thank you for using Microsofts Small Business Server newsgroups. I just
wanted to pass on some additional information regarding this issue. The
reason you could not view the application events in the log is because that
log was corrupted during the crash. If the log is corrupted you cannot
view it and you can save it but it will be blank. The only way to resolve
it is to do what you did, delete the log file itself. It will then get
rebuilt and you will be able to view it. The following Knowledge Base
article gives more details:
172156 How to Delete Corrupt Event Viewer Log Files
