adding users does not add exchange mailbox

SBS >> adding users does not add exchange mailbox

I am adding a user today. I ran the add user wizard like i have countless
times before. After adding the information and pressing finish the bluse
bars usually took about 20 seconds to finsh. Today the took 2-3 minutes and
in the end the user was added, the computer was added, but no email address
was saved for them and no exchange mailbox was created. I check the
exchange system administrator and no mailbox was there. I can amnaually add
the email address for the user but this still does not generate the mailbox.
No errors are recorded in the event logs.

Help! this is driving me crazy:?(

says is name can not be found.

SBS >> adding users does not add exchange mailbox I had this exact problem yesterday, In AD Users & Computers under the users
properties. Select the e-mail addresses tab. Here I added a .com smtp, a
.local smtp, and an x400 address. Then I sent an e-mail to the new user and
it created the mailbox. Of course your e-mail services will vary depending
on your environment.

Note: The exchange server would not recognize the new users address until I
resarted the server. I could not figure out how to force exchange to update
without a restart.

SBS >> adding users does not add exchange mailbox This is a symptom of not having Exchange SP1 installed - so if you've not
got Exchange SP1 installed, install it. A workaround is to restart the
MSExchangeSA service. You might find a bunch of 8331 errors in the
application log.
