Where on these forums could i post a sound related problem i need answering i need to know because im new to these forums thank you

i had a problem on a new HP with Vista pre=installed. my audio stopped working after the required Vista upgrade on 3/18/07. i searched the knowledge base and found a link to realtek audio drivers. in spite of device manager saying that my Realtec drivers were fine, i downloaded the new driver from the link:

www.realtek.com.tw/downloads site.

this fixed my problem. i can't say if it will fix it for you.

Which SDK or product are you having a sound related problem with If you are using Media Foundation this is the right forum. For older products, use the corresponding newsgroup under http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/community.aspx

Can you elaborate a little on what Chat Rooms, etc

Also do you have any audio such as can you play a MP3\WMA file

I have audio for everything on my computer. The only thing that doesn't work is audio in yahoo chat rooms.

Can you provide a link to a chat room that contains audio. From what I have found it appears to have a requirement for Java. What version of Sun Java do you have installed

running Ultimate final code. Yahoo chat rooms have audio greyed out. Nonfunctional in all cliens, including third-party chat clients. I have to believe this is related to the Vista HAL. I turned firewall off, no diff. All other audio works, including chatting with one-on-one. Sucks, because I am a regular music room chatter and cannot hear anything in rooms now.
