I am unable to play the samples (included in the HD Jumpstart download) with the emulator. I've tried using both open disc and open path to launch the DAT file. When I use open disc is says unable to parse/read the DAT file. When I use open path I get no message, but the emulator screen resizes slightly and stays blank.

For Open Disc you probably need to select one level up ie the directory above ADV_OBJ.

For the blank screen, run DXDiag, click on "Display 1" and make sure "DirectDraw Acceleration" is enabled. If problems persist please tell us the video card youn are using.

As this is a beta, we haven't tested every possible video card. You need at least 128MB of graphics RAM, and the 'readme' lists the following cards as being recommended:

Recommendation: NVidia GeForce 6600, 6600GT, 6800LE, 6800, or 7000 series card; or ATI Radeon X600, X800, or X1000 series card.

Audio drivers can also be a problem.

No, you don't need other software, but you do need a compatible video driver (and a working audio driver) and at least 128M of video RAM.

I don't believe Intel video drivers support the NV12 bitmap format, which the current simulator requires. (This restriction has been relaxed in the forthcoming version which supports YV12 which Intel do support).

Also try running dxdiag, click on Display. Make sure all three accelerations under DirectX Freatures are listed as Enabled.

If the lack of VRAM is the problem, reduce the size of the window before loading the content: this works on my Toshiba tablet which has a pathetic amount of VRAM.

Hi,

i've been trying to run the jumpstart kit but something doesn't work... I have this problem:
"When I use open path I get no message, but the emulator screen resizes slightly and stays blank."

I can't play the samples.
I was using two monitors, but I have tried it also with one and it also doesn't work.

I have run DXDiag - Direct Acceleration is activated... and all test run ok.

My Graphic card is:
ATI FireGL V3100 128MB RAM

DirectX 9.0c

My workstation has:
Xeon CPU 2.8Ghz 2 CPUs
2046MB RAM
Audio SB Audigy Audio
ati2dvag.dll

Is my card not compatible or is it something else
Please help me as I am really interested in iHD
Thanks for your time!

It might be your video card. I believe that you actually need 256 MB of video ram.

Do you have Windows Media Player 11 and .NET Framework 2.0 installed

When you go to

Start > Programs > Microsoft HD DVD Interactivity Jumpstart > HD DVD Simulator > Samples > Rotating Menus Sample

do you see anything at all
