Framework for developing a financial software

I want to develop a new software with VS 2005 implementing several financial functions like accounting, creating invoices etc. But I don't want to write everything from the beginning. Is there a framework I can integrate in VS 2005 provide me basic functions I can extend with my own features

I worked on a large financial project earlier. We did similar research but we did not find any such freely available framework.

Not sure how large the financial solution you require is, but look at Great Plains
