Windows XP Update >> office 2003 service pack 1

when i down load this update it does not complete when ireceive message
failed download

Insured you have plenty of free space?

Need for you to dig into the log file and see what it contains for the =
last session.
Use Notepad or Wordpad and take a look at=20
C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log (note: your Windows folder may be at =
WINNT )

Scan down to the bottom. Review contents. Copy and paste back in =
reply "significant portions" for last session.

P.S. If you got error 0x51F, then.....
Have your Office installation CD handy. (The first CD of the set.) Put =
it in the CD / DVD drive before the install phase of the update.

Make sure to tweak 2 things.
Refine settings in Internet Explorer browser. Add the following=20

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

http://update.microsoft.com

http://download.windowsupdate.com

to the trusted sites list in the Internet Options. =20


To access the Exceptions settings. =20

1. Open Internet Explorer browser

2. Click Tools / Internet Options=20

3. Click the Security Tab=20

4. Click on the Trusted Sites Icon=20

5. Click on the Sites button

6. Unselect the check box "Require server verification (https:)for all =
sites in this zone"

7. Add all sites listed above

8. Apply changes.=20

Do this to tweak the pop-up blocker in I.E.-SP2.
From Internet Explorer main menu, select Tools, then Popup blocker, then =
popup blocker settings.
For address of Web site to allow, type in
*.microsoft.com

Press Add, then press Close.=20

That last part is to insure you see the prompt to insure Office CD.
